Principal's Message

Canal View Families, 


Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you’ve all been enjoying the beautiful weather this week. This message is filled with important information regarding how to pick up your child(ren)’s items from school.    


Schedule: 

Each day noted below will have two blocks of time, in the morning from 8 – 11 am and in the afternoon from 12:30 – 3 pm.  Please feel free to choose whichever works better for you and your family while maintaining the alphabetical assignments by day: 


  • Tuesday, May 26: Students with the last names A-F  

  • Wednesday, May 27: Students with the last names G-M  

  • Thursday, May 28: Students with the last names N-R  

  • Friday, May 29: Students with the last names S-Z  


Protocols: 

Please park anywhere in the front parking lot while maintaining the idea of social distancing (utilize every-other spot when possible). 


Be sure you are wearing a face covering while on school property and maintain social distancing at all times (6 feet apart). 


Everyone will need to enter through the main entrance (Door 1) where you will be checked in by a member of the staff. 


Classrooms and lockers have been emptied and locked, including the locker room lockers and instrumental band room.  Outside of your child’s classroom you will find a labeled bag containing your child’s belongings. In some cases, instruments have been left with bags and are also clearly labeled. 


While you are in the building, please also check the Lost and Found, which is located in the hallway across from the main office. Be sure to look for anything missing as this will be your last chance to claim what belongs to you and your family.


You will exit the building through Door 2 (located by the 500 hallway/gymnasium), where a staff member will note that you have left the building.  

 
Important notes: 


Students/parents entering the building will be required to state they are not suffering from symptoms of COVID-19 when they are logged in. If you have any of the following symptoms without a known cause please do not enter the building: cough, shortness of breath / difficulty breathing, fever, upset stomach or diarrhea, chills, muscle pain / joint aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of smell or taste. 


Bathrooms will NOT be available. Only a certain number of people will be allowed in the building at one time.  This will be monitored by staff.  Please be prepared to have to wait outside the building (social distancing) until you are

allowed to enter. 


At this time, we are not collecting laptops, books or any other school resources currently in your possession.  We want you to have everything you need until the end of the school year in June.  Stay tuned for those details at a later date.
